PM Visits Brussels for get GSP+

Prime Minister Ranil and his team arrived at the Brussels International Airport this evening to commence the first round of renegotiating the GSP Plus agreement. Upon arrival at the Renaissance Hotel, Brussels, Sri Lankan team were greeted by HE Rodney Perera, Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, as well as several embassy officials.
Prime Minister hope to commence discussions with high-level officials of the European Commission, European Union and the European Parliament tomorrow. HE Rodney Perera expressed his belief that if Sri Lanka successfully reverses the GSP+ suspension, Sri Lanka's currency reserves would increase from 10-20% through access to the European market amounting to a population of over 500 million people.
