The International Exhibition and Seminar on ‘Alternative Ayurveda Practices’ will be held in Colombo next month.
It is organized by the Ministry Of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine together with WHO and the University of Sri Jayawardenapura.
Ayurveda doctors and specialists from 14 countries will participate in this exhibition.
Minister Rajitha Senaratna said that there is a program to introduce Sri Lankan ayurveda drugs to the international market through the exhibition. There will be over 200 stalls at the exhibition.
He said that from the next year, Ayurveda production facilities will have to get registered once in five years while a program to certify ayurveda products has also to be launched. Minister Senaratna further said that to eliminate the shortage of ayurveda drugs the herbal gardens owned by the Ayurveda Department should be cultivated at least by the private sector.
