Prevailing rainy condition in the south-western part of the country is expected to continue during the next few days, Met. Department said.
Strong gusty winds can be expected over surrounding sea areas of the island and also fairly strong gusty winds can be expected over the Northern, North-central, North- western and Central provinces and in Hambantota district.
Showers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern provinces, fairly heavy showers (about 75-100 mm) can be expected at some places particularly in the southern province and in Kalutara and Ratnapura districts.
Showers or thunder showers may occur at a few places in the Uva Province and in Ampara, Batticaloa and Vavuniya districts after 2.00p.m.
Several spells of showers may occur in the North-western Province and in Mannar and Jaffna districts.
Temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers are expected and the public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning.
