Military Secretariat at the Army Headquarters on the instructions of the Commander of the Army has made several new key appointments for under-mentioned Senior Officers as stated against their names:
Major General Sathyapriya Liyanage: Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) and will continue as Commander, Overall Operations Command (Western Province & Puttalam District). He relinquishes as Commander, Security Forces-West.
Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi: Head of National Action Plan on Preventing and Countering Religious Radicalization, Violent Extremism and Terrorism at Ministry of Defence (MoD) with effect from 17 July 2019 and relinquishes as Commander, Security Forces-Jaffna.
Major General Kumudu Perera: New Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army and relinquishes the appointment as Commander, Security Forces-Wanni.
Major General Jagath Gunawardena: New Commander, Security Forces-Wanni and relinquishes the appointment of Master General Ordnance at the Army Headquarters.
Major General Mahinda Mudalige: New Commander, Security Forces -West and relinquishes the appointment as the General Officer Commanding - 24 Division.
Major General H R K P Peiris: New Master General Ordnance at AHQ and relinquishes as Chief Field Engineer.
Major General Tissa Nanayakkara: New Chief Field Engineer at Army HQ and relinquishes as General Officer Commanding 11 Division.
Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya: New Commander, Security Forces-Jaffna and relinquishes as General Officer Commanding, 59 Division.
Major General Senarath Bandara: New General Officer Commanding, 11 Division and relinquishes as General Officer Commanding, 54 Division.
Meanwhile, several Senior Officers, Brigadier A. I Marasinghe, Brigadier K. H. P. P Fernando, Brigadier W. S Ariyasinghe, Brigadier W. L. P. W Perera, Brigadier A. A. I. J Bandara, Brigadier M. D. U. V Gunatilleka, Brigadier H. L.V. M Liyanage, Brigadier C. D Weerasuriya, Brigadier P. A. J Peiris, Brigadier K. Liyanage, Brigadier D. M. A. P Dissanayake, Brigadier P. M. L Chandrasiri, Brigadier K.
