Navy reconstructs Meegahajadura Tank in Sooriyawewa

As part of the Navy’s Social Responsibility project being implemented under the guidance of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, the reconstruction work of the Meegahajadura Tank in Sooriyawewa came to a close yesterday (2nd June).

The tank that was in ramshackle condition was also filled with garbage. However, the navy could complete the renovation work in record time, restoring the previous condition of the tank.

The project that was coordinated through the Navy’s Research and Development Unit had been initiated under close supervision of Commander Anthony Weerasinghe.
